Green Neon Tetra
Remarks: Green Neon Tetras are one of the less common Paracheirodon species. They are a great choice for beginners and small tanks, as well as large schools in larger tanks. They have small, silver bodies with a pale red or clear abdomen and a green stripe from the caudal fin to the middle of their body. They should be kept in groups of at least 6 fish but a school of 10-15 will fit comfortably in a 10 gallon tank. An interesting thing to note about the green neon tetra is that they are the only Paracheirodon species to be found in the clear, main rivers in the Amazon instead of the tributaries or flooded forests where their cousins, the neon tetra and the cardinal tetra, are typically found. Because of this, they prefer their water to be slightly cooler.
