White Top Hara
Remarks: White top hara are a uniquely colored mbuna from Gallireya Reef. They spend their time swimming around the rocky piles on the reef, with males guarding territories in the rocks. These fish are excellent diggers and will rearrange your substrate. It is recommended that any rocky piles in the aquarium be glued or otherwise secured to prevent falling as a result of digging.
Female white top haras are light blue with faint barring. Males have alternating light blue and navy bars with a white dorsal fin. More dominant males have a coloration that is closer to white than blue which is where they get their common name. Unlike most mbuna, they have a more carnivorous diet rather than an herbivorous one so a diet consisting mostly of meaty foods with occasionally supplementation of vegetable/algae-based foods should be provided.
