Six Banded Barb
Remarks: Six Banded Barbs are fantastic little cyprinids from Borneo. They have rose-gold bodies with five blue-green stripes throughout. As they turn under a light, you will notice a blue sheen over all of their scales. They look best in a planted blackwater tank, but will fit nicely in most community tanks. As a small species, they require cover in the form of driftwood, leaf litter, and plants.
If kept in small numbers, it is likely for this fish to become stressed and nip the fins of tankmates. The best way to prevent this is to keep them in groups of 6 or more so they are preoccupied with displaying and sparring rather than harassing other species.
