Gold Barb

Remarks: The gold barb is a perfect fish for beginners as they are known to be very hardy and have a vibrant golden color. They tolerate a wide variety of water parameters and are rather peaceful making them an excellent candidate for most peaceful community tanks. These fish appreciate being kept in groups of 6 or more as they are a shoaling species. An interesting fact about the gold barb is that the golden color is man-made via many years of selective breeding with the wild form being a more green/teal color.
