Italian Val (Vallisneria spiralis)

Remarks:  Vallisneria spiralis, also known as Italian val, is a beautiful, seagrass-like aquarium plant which has the potential to grow impressively long leaves. They do not grow as tall as Vallisneria americana (jungle val) and have thinner, more lime green leaves as well as thinner roots. This makes them a great choice for those wanting a background plant with a bushier look and while not having to worry about them reaching several feet in height. It is a low light and very undemanding plant.

  Vallisneria spiralis propagate similar to other vals by sending out runners beneath the substrate and are heavy root feeders. While they do not require much, they will certainly get a boost from the utilization of a planted tank substrate and/or root tabs.

The plants you receive will be at least 3" - 4" in length. It can grow to be taller but will be trimmed for shipping purposes. The plant will both grow and reproduce very quickly.
