Gold Dojo Loach

Remarks: Dojo loaches are a very popular loach in the aquarium hobby due to their hardy nature and endearing personalities. Many become tame enough to eat right from their keeper's hand. Their other common name, the weather loach, comes from their peculiar increase in activity when a storm is on the way.Ā

Ā  These loaches tend to burrow, so a sandy substrate is best for their health. They also grow to a very large size so while a 40 gallon may work as a grow-out tank, once they begin to reach the 6 inch mark these fish should be kept in a 90 gallon at minimum. Care should be taken to not allow these fish to escape as the combination of them being able to squirm across the land into new water-ways and their wide tolerance of water parameters has made them highly invasive.

Ā  This is the albino version of the dojo loach that has red eyes and a golden body.
