Remarks: The Exasperatus (Labidochromis joanjohnsonae, formerly Melanochromis joanjohnsonae) is a speckled mbuna when young, but males turn blue with black fins. Juveniles have yellow stripes, but adult fish are mostly light blue with pale bands. Females typically do not act aggressively, but males can be aggressive towards fish with a similar appearance.
It is said that their aggression is not in the form of lip-locking, but rapid diving into the target.
