Ember Tetra
Remarks: Ember Tetras are small, orange tetras from the Araguaia system in South America. They breed readily and have been mass-produced in captivity for many years making them readily available to fish hobbyists. Even at less than half an inch, they are packed with orange color, which darkens at the edges of the fins to a somewhat red hue. Because of their size, however, they require many conspecifics to feel comfortable and safe - safety in numbers is the key to survival. To encourage their best colors and activity, it is best to keep them in groups of 8 or more among lots of aquatic plants. A group of 10-15 will fit comfortably in a ten gallon tank.
