Remarks: Amphilophus trimaculatus, also known as trimac or three spot cichlids, are large aggressive cichlids from Central America. Upon maturity, they show lots of fantastic red and green color. In the wild they will eat small fish and crustaceans.  These fish should be kept with similar sized fish with similar temperaments. Previously these fish were classified as Cichlasoma trimaculatus but have been reclassified as Amphilophus trimaculatus in recent years.
