Remarks: Blue acara (Andinoacara pulcher) are fairly peaceful fish and can be kept with similarly sized South American cichlids, such as Geophagus, Severums, and Angelfish. These amazing little cichlids are full of color and personality. When spawning, they will clean a surface to lay their eggs that they defend until the fry hatch and are able to fend for themselves. Providing spawning surfaces such as terracotta pots and saucers can help encourage spawning.
