Albino Full Red Guppy (Poecilia reticulata)
Remarks:Ā The albino full red guppy (Poecilia reticulata) is a true albino strain with an unbeatably vibrant red color across the entirety of the bodies and fins of males. Being true albinos, they have the iconic red eyes commonly associated with the mutation. Female fish usually are a light tan or clear with bright red fins making even the females of this strain an incredible looking guppy.
Ā A perfect starter fish! Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are peaceful community fish that reproduce with ease. They are livebearers, meaning the females release live fry rather than laying eggs. It is recommended to keep more females than males, as males can easily harass females with relentless attempts to reproduce, leading to stress in the females.
Ā For most strains, males are very colorful while the females remain a gray or silver color. However, there are some exceptions to this rule so sexing these fish is best done by looking at the anal fin. The females will have short, rounded triangle shaped anal fins with a black spot on the body directly above it, these are her female reproductive organs. Males will have long, thin, pointed anal fins that form his male reproductive organs called the gonopodium.
